On March 30, 2018, Elena Stuart, Managing Partner at Stuarts Legal, conducted a seminar titled “Risk-Free EPC Projects” in Astana for colleagues from the law firm UNICASE, as well as for a representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. During the seminar, participants discussed cases related to minimizing risks for general contractors when performance guarantees are not met due to subcontractor faults; design errors at the FEED stage by subcontractors and the implications of such errors when designing according to European standards; and various other issues, including the risks associated with using FIDIC proformas in Russia and Kazakhstan.
